GEO agency in IstanbulIs your brandvisible in AI?

Transparent GEO work for accurate brand visibility in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.

  • Prompt set written together with you
  • Visibility, positions and sources reported
  • Measurement, not guarantees

What does Sparlio do in GEO optimization?

Sparlio is a digital marketing agency in Istanbul built around performance marketing and offering 360-degree service; it combines ad management, photo/video production and Google Maps visibility under one roof to deliver measurable results. Sparlio uses GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) to raise the odds that your brand appears with accurate information in answers from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Perplexity. Sparlio works out a service-specific prompt set with you, makes your site readable for AI crawlers and reports raw results every month. Because AI answers vary, Sparlio does not guarantee rankings or customers.

AI AND YOUR CUSTOMERS

Do your customers find you through AI?

Asking AI for business recommendations is spreading fast: in the US, the share of consumers who ask ChatGPT and similar tools for local business recommendations rose from 6% to 45% in a year (BrightLocal). In a global survey, 28% of local-business searchers had tried a new local business in the past six months because an AI tool recommended it. The user base in Türkiye is growing quickly too: according to TÜİK, generative AI use among people aged 16–74 nearly doubled in a year. So does your brand show up in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, and if it does, is the information right?

PROOF

Where have we applied GEO, and what did we measure?

Sparlio writes every piece of proof with its period, data source and limitations. Where a project has no GEO-specific measurement of AI traffic, no result figure is given; only the work done is described.

  1. 01

A service website where GEO was applied (Istanbul)

    13 July – 10 October 2026 · GA4, first-party data

On an Istanbul-based service website where the GEO method was applied, 58 of 519 sessions (11.2%) between 13 July and 10 October 2026 came from the AI assistant channel in GA4; all of them came from chatgpt.com.

The site was given robots.txt access for AI crawlers, server-rendered HTML, structured data, question-led headings and FAQs; a single brand definition, Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow were added in the last days of the period. The page AI visitors entered most was a service page, with 16 sessions; those visitors stayed 1 min 23 s on it on average, against a site average of 41 s.

The data comes from the site’s own GA4 property and covers a single site (n=1); session counts are small. GA4 attributes only visits with a visible referrer to this channel. There is no pre-GEO baseline, so the share should not be read as the effect of the GEO work alone. The site name is not shared.

  2. 02

    My Tedarik

Kocaeli (Karamürsel) · Public and corporate procurement · Website, SEO, GEO

Sparlio built the website for My Tedarik, a supplier of technical products to public institutions and corporate buyers, and carried out its SEO and GEO work.

My Tedarik’s site lists product groups such as garden and park machinery, hoses and industrial products. Sparlio handled web development, SEO and GEO for the project as a single team.

No GEO-specific measured AI traffic or result figure is published for this project; only the work done is described here.

  3. 03

    Siyaz Döner

Esenyurt, Istanbul · Döner restaurant · SEO+GEO, website, social media, Google Ads

Sparlio ran SEO and GEO for Siyaz Döner in Esenyurt, Istanbul, alongside its website, social media, delivery-app storefronts, WhatsApp ordering software and Google Ads.

In the Siyaz Döner project, GEO was not handled on its own but together with all of the restaurant’s digital channels. Results of the combined work appear, with their timeframe and limitations, in the Siyaz Döner case on the performance marketing page.

There is no GEO-specific measured AI traffic figure, so no number is given here as a GEO result. The result on the performance marketing page reflects all of the combined work, not GEO alone.

PROCESS

How do I show up in ChatGPT? GEO, step by step

01

Prompt set and baseline

Together with you, Sparlio writes the questions your customers would ask AI, such as “recommend a wedding photographer in Kadıköy”. The set is tested in ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Perplexity, and mentions, positions, cited pages and source domains are recorded as the baseline.

02

Technical and content fixes

Sparlio explicitly allows AI crawlers in robots.txt, checks that critical content is readable without running JavaScript, and submits the site through Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Yandex Webmaster and IndexNow. Structured data, a single brand definition and question-led content that answers directly are then added.

03

Off-site sources

A significant share of AI recommendations draws on sources outside your website. Sparlio aligns your Google Business Profile, LinkedIn and directory listings around the same brand information and sets up a steady way to collect reviews from genuine customers.

04

Measurement and transparent reporting

The same prompt set is retested at regular intervals and compared with the baseline. Sparlio sets up an AI assistant traffic channel in GA4, and the monthly report shares the raw test results, sessions from that channel and priorities for the next period.

HOW WE WORK

What we can’t guarantee, and what we do

The GEO service carries no guarantee of customers, sales or rankings: Sparlio does not promise a specific position or a set number of recommendations in ChatGPT, Gemini or Google AI Mode either. AI answers change with the person asking, the wording of the question and the moment it is asked. In a study BrightLocal published in September 2026, when the same local question was asked again, the lists of recommended businesses overlapped by only 23% on average in ChatGPT and 21% in Google AI Mode. With answers this variable, no agency can promise “first place in ChatGPT”.

Sparlio’s job is to put the right conditions in place: when someone asks an AI assistant about the service you offer, the assistant should be able to read your site, recognize your brand correctly and consider you among the businesses it could recommend. Those conditions are crawler access, content readable without JavaScript, consistent brand information, indexing and trustworthy sources beyond your own site. Once they are in place, the chance of being recommended with accurate information goes up, but it does not become a certainty.

Sparlio reports progress through measurement, not promises: the prompt set is written with you, and the raw test results and AI channel data from GA4 are shared every month. An AI recommendation is not the final step either. According to Yext’s March 2026 survey of 1,120 US adults, 62% of people who get a recommendation from AI search Google straight away, 58% visit the business’s website, and only 7% act without further research. GEO works best alongside your website, Google Business Profile and reviews.

What changed in AI search in 2026?

  • September 2026

AI recommendations change even for the same question

In BrightLocal’s study of 200,085 local searches, the average overlap of recommended businesses when the same question was repeated was 23% in ChatGPT, 21% in Google AI Mode and 33% in AI Overviews. Visibility has to be measured with repeated tests, not a single screenshot.

  • September 2026

Three quarters of AI referrals in Turkey come from ChatGPT

According to Statcounter, 75.75% of referrals from chatbots to websites in Turkey came from ChatGPT and 21.56% from Gemini. Tests should cover Gemini and Google AI Mode as well as ChatGPT.

  • July 2026

Google AI Mode passed one billion monthly users

According to Alphabet’s Q2 2026 remarks, AI Mode passed one billion monthly active users worldwide. On Google, visibility has to be planned together with classic SEO and the Google Business Profile.

  • March 2026

Most people who get an AI recommendation check it first

In Yext’s survey of 1,120 US adults, 62% of people who get a business recommendation from AI search Google right away and 58% visit the business’s website; only 7% act without further research. The website and Business Profile remain the decision point.

  • February 2026

Asking AI for local business recommendations jumped from 6% to 45%

According to BrightLocal’s survey of 1,002 US consumers, the share using ChatGPT and similar tools for local business recommendations rose from 6% to 45% in a year; Google still leads at 71%.

  • February 2026

Google AI Mode and AI Overviews launched in Turkish

Google launched AI Mode and AI Overviews in Turkish in Türkiye on 18 February 2026. Because an AI answer now sits above the results for some searches, paid and organic visibility are best planned together.

FAQ

GEO and AI SEO: frequently asked questions

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), also called AI visibility work, aims to raise the odds that a brand appears with accurate information in answers from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Perplexity. Despite the acronym, it has nothing to do with geographic targeting. Sparlio runs GEO through technical access, citable content, consistent brand information, off-site sources and regular measurement.

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) means shaping content so it can be picked as the direct answer to a question, including featured snippets and voice assistants. AIO (AI Optimization) is a broader term, sometimes used for optimizing for Google’s AI Overviews. The three overlap heavily; the difference is emphasis: AEO targets the direct answer, GEO targets brand mentions in generative AI answers. Sparlio runs the scope on this page as a single piece of work under the GEO heading.

SEO aims to rank pages in search results; GEO aims to get the brand mentioned and cited inside the AI answer. GEO does not replace SEO. In Seobaz’s August 2026 analysis of a Turkish mobile sample, 75.3% of Google AI Overview sources came from the organic top 10 for the same query, and Bing’s index is an important source for ChatGPT’s web search. So Sparlio builds GEO on a solid SEO foundation and runs both on the same pages.

For questions that need current or local information, ChatGPT usually runs a web search, drawing on Bing’s index and on pages read by OpenAI’s crawler, OAI-SearchBot. It often assembles the answer from several sources, such as the business’s website, directories, review platforms and lists. There is no public, fixed ranking formula, and the list can change when the same question is asked again: in BrightLocal’s September 2026 study, repeated local questions produced only 23% average overlap in ChatGPT’s recommendations.

The possible causes fall into three groups. Technical: robots.txt or security settings may block AI crawlers, critical content may load only through JavaScript (most of these bots do not run it), or the site may not be indexed in Bing. Content: pages may not answer questions directly. Off-site: brand information may conflict across sources, or there may be few independent sources that mention the brand. Sparlio checks each of these in the initial analysis.

Sparlio measures with a service-specific Turkish prompt set written together with you, such as “recommend a corporate photographer in Beşiktaş”. The set is tested regularly in ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Perplexity. Each test records whether the brand is mentioned, in what position, which page is cited and which source domains are used. Because answers vary, Sparlio looks at repeated tests rather than a single try and compares results with the baseline.

Sparlio does not commit to a GEO timeframe; how soon it takes effect depends on the site’s current state, the competition and off-site sources. Technical fixes such as crawler access, structured data and indexing are done at the start. For content to show up in AI answers, pages need to be recrawled and independent sources need to build up. According to Seer’s July 2026 analysis, AI citations favor recent content. Sparlio shows progress against the baseline, not against a date.

No. Sparlio does not guarantee positions, recommendations or customers in ChatGPT, Gemini or Google AI Mode, and since no agency controls AI answers, no one can offer that guarantee. Answers change with the person, the moment and the wording: in BrightLocal’s September 2026 study, repeated local questions in Google AI Mode produced only 21% average overlap in recommendations. What Sparlio does is build the conditions that raise your odds of being recommended accurately, and measure them transparently.

llms.txt is a file that lists a site’s summary and key pages in plain text (Markdown) for AI systems. It is not yet an established standard, and Google says llms.txt is not needed for its AI features. Sparlio sets up llms.txt but treats it as a low-impact hygiene step, not something that lifts visibility on its own. Crawler access, readable content and off-site sources matter more for visibility.

Structured data helps, but it is not enough on its own. Ahrefs’ 2026 analysis found that schema markup alone does not increase AI citations, and Google says no special schema is required for its AI features. Sparlio still sets up Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList markup, because it states in machine-readable form who your brand is, what it offers and where it is. The markup always matches the visible content on the page exactly.

Yes. On 18 February 2026, Google launched AI Mode and AI Overviews in Türkiye, in Turkish. According to Alphabet’s July 2026 remarks, AI Mode has passed 1 billion monthly active users worldwide. Statcounter data shows that in September 2026, 21.56% of chatbot referrals to websites in Türkiye came from Gemini. That is why Sparlio tests in Gemini and Google AI Mode as well as ChatGPT, and runs the Google side together with SEO and Google Business Profile work.

Bing’s index is an important source for ChatGPT’s web search, so a page that is not indexed in Bing is less likely to appear in ChatGPT answers. Microsoft Copilot also runs on Bing. That is why Sparlio adds your site to Bing Webmaster Tools, submits the sitemap and uses IndexNow to notify supporting search engines, including Bing and Yandex, about new or updated pages. Search Console for Google and Yandex Webmaster for Yandex are set up the same way.

AI assistants judge a business not only by its website but by what other sources say about it. In Surfer’s October 2026 analysis of a marketing-heavy sample, Clutch.co was ChatGPT’s second most-cited domain. A strong Google Maps presence is not enough on its own: in BrightLocal’s September 2026 study, Maps showed a tracked business in 66% of searches, while AI answers showed it in 32–38%. So Sparlio works on your Business Profile, directory listings and genuine reviews together.

Performance marketing captures existing demand with ads; GEO raises the odds of your brand making the shortlist in AI answers. The two meet in the same customer journey: in Yext’s March 2026 US survey, 62% of people given an AI recommendation search Google straight away and 58% visit the business’s website. Sparlio runs GEO alongside Google Ads, Meta Ads and Google Maps.
